Manuela Kagerbauer
Manuela Kagerbauer creates visually stimulating, immersive installations and objects using mixed media. With a focus on technical materials she often incorporates glass and metal. Intrigued by the mouldability of metal and the fragility of glass. Manuela enjoys exploring the possibilities of both materials, pushing the boundaries of what is technically achievable
Manuelas intent lies in allowing people to experience the early symptoms of Macular Degeneration; a visual impairment. People with this sight deficiency can experience warped lines and movement, simulating visuals alike to an optical illusion. She uses this as inspiration for her work, playing with recreating the visual symptoms. The interaction between the viewer and her work is very important to her. She wants her art to be an experience!
