Julie Gardner
Julie Gardner is a lino print artist who works from her garden studio in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
Inspiration for her prints often comes from fashion shots and patterned, colourful fabrics, but she also loves drawing anything botanical. All her artwork starts as an original pencil drawing which is then traced onto traditional grey lino. Then the real fun begins as she meticulously cuts away parts of the lino that won’t be printed. But her absolute favourite part of the process is the first roll of ink, it’s like Christmas!
She fell in love with lino printing quite recently and is very happy to have found ‘her thing’ at last.
Julie is a member of the Reading Guild of Artists and has exhibited her lino prints at various galleries including Bankside Gallery in London, home to the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. She also teaches lino printing workshops from her studio.
